Annealing through laser processing actually consists of growing a dense cohesive oxide coating on the surface. This is done when melting is specifically not required. An annealed mark created by a laser is achievable on steel and titanium materials, by heating the surface and effectively changing the colour of that material surface.
This process does not remove any metal material. Annealing is a common application in the medical device industry, producing a mark suitable to meet all infection control standards.
Clipsal’s general white “industrial” plastic switch plate will mark to a dark colour, perfect for labeling ganged or multi switch plates. If you are starting with a blank plate to be drilled later, we can even mark the hole locations and sizes directly onto the plate for you.
